So a long time ago, in a far away distant world, this happened. There was this concert promoter named Don Kirschner who decided it would be good to tape live concerts, then re-broadcast them on prime time TV, this had ever been done. These concerts pre-empted the Dick Cavett show, which he wasn't too happy about, but all us young Hippies, music lovers and others were tickled pink. The first one that was broadcast was Alice Cooper, and the network told Kirschner that he could not do any more because Alice Cooper was so obtuse, rude, disgusting and raw!!! But Kirschner stayed focused and was able to convince the network that wouldn't happen again. One the next ones was the Allman Brothers less than a year after Duane and Berry Oakley were killed in sperate motorcycle accidents!. This band consisted of Gregg on vocals, Lamar Williams on Bass, Butch Trucks (Derek's Uncle) on drums, Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johano on drums as well. The next concert that I watched a few weeks later was Loggins and Messina, featuring Richie Furay, Jim Messina and Rusty Young. These negatives aren't really in the best of shape, they have been in a negative file for about 46 years. What I find sorta cool is you can still see the shape on "old school" TV screens from these images, they were still sorta round in the early 70's. Well, too all you "Boomers" out there, I hope these images bring back some fond memories and a big smile to your faces. Remember my Motto: "Stay Stoked, and Stay Forever Young." Da Lieb
