Since this weekend is the 50th. anniversary of the Monterreay Pop Festival, thought I would share a few images of the second Monterrey Pop (1968 Summer of Love), that Julie and I attended. It was really a nice festival...what I can remember of it! I do however remember seeing Joan Baez, Country Joe and the Fish, and I think Sly and the Family Stone? !! This gallery features some of the faces of the festival, including HS friend Steve Sirotski carving his name into a bench. Also bumped into the Pop Star Lulu was was jamming with one of the many pop up jams going on outside the venue. Eric Burdon sang that even the cops were wearing flowers in their hair,,,,didn't see that, but they sure seemed to me, to be really happy ! We brewed up a gallon of Peyote tea, and that lasted about the first day!! On the way home we stopped in the Big Sur, hung around for a while for the tide to drop then hiked down the hill and went skinny dipping next to the waterfall. Had such a blast, boy those were the days! Remember my motto; "Stay Stoked, and Stay Forever Young" Da Lieb
