1. Daily Session

July 25th. 2019

As you probably know, Shirley and I spent six weeks walking about 350 mile of The Camino Frances through Spain this Spring. It was a eye opening trek through Northern Spain. A beautiful and breathtaking part of the world. We took about four days off for rest and sightseeing in some of the larger cities that we walked through. It wasnt easy and I was so impressed with how tough and determined Shirely was. She truly inspired me, and still does to this day. Even if she wasnt feeling well, she had her pack on and was ready to go at 6:30 almost every morning! We saw such beautiful sights, that mere photographs don't really do justice to the beauty of Spain. We ended our trek in Sarria, after just plain running out of time, and we had to catch a flight to Dublin Ireland, which I was sorta estatic about. Going from trekking for six weeks in a very rural area, to a city of almost a million and a half was almost culture shock! I enjoyed Dublin a lot, but was put off by the mass of humanity. A very crowded and frenetic city, beautiful full of life but a hundred and eighty degrees from the prior six weeks. We stayed in Dublin for about five nights and one day took a tour of the countryside which included; Wicklow, Glendalough and Kilkenny. For me that was the "real" Ireland, just how I had pictured it in my mind; Green beyond compare, many rivers and lakes and VERY old! We toured the city by foot and saw some beautiful museums, plenty of whisky bars, went shopping at very nice places and had exceptional meals. After almost a week in Dublin, we BOTH were very tired and just wanted to be home, and no you cannot just click your heels ! Its a long and uncomfortable flight home. BUT was ALL worth it. Remember my motto: "Stay Stoked and Stay Forever Young." Da Lieb
