Yesterdays South swell pulled like a magnet back to Cabali's. Similarily, Cabali's pulls South's in like a magnet as well. Over the last few years it has become my go to Summer break. It is a bit of a trek just to check the waves, out as it is a hidden and out of the way place to get to. But once I strap on my sixty pound pack, grab my tripod and start walking, Im usually committed. Another, and maybe one of the things that I enjoy about this particular break, is the isolation, peace and solitude. This stretch of coast is adorned with nothing but age old lava, so you are surfing over and around really nasty rocks that wanna shred your skin if given a chance! I have never seen many more than ten surfers out on the very BEST days. The prevailing wind tends to blow side shore/offshore here, so it can remain surf able during really strong winds. It was just a joy for me yesterday to enjoy all this at Cabali's. I hope you enjoy these photos and share that sense of Peace and Freedom with me.
