On Friday Shirley and I decided to hike at a very isolated, strange and surreal beach. It was foggy, with the visibility going from about ten yards to fifty or so, making it very erie. This beach stretches on for many miles and is very isolated. There is a lot of wildlife out here, including raccoons, coyotes, many varieties of birds and mountain lions. You are many miles away from where you park, and if something happened, you might be in a lot of trouble. The Coastal Band of Chumash inhabited this area and had great knowledge of every area. It is most spiritual, and one wants to tread lightly. Some of the beach looks eerily like photos I have seen of Mars! You pack everything in, and take everything back out, leaving this beautiful place as it was when you arrived. We saw only two fishermen in the five hours we hiked. It truly was a wonderful day trip for us. Remember my motto: "Stay Stoked, and Stay Forever Young." Da Lieb
