Yesterday started out how it has many times before, meeting up with my good friend and surfing compadre Shawn Tracht for another one of our shooting sessions. Shawn's friend Gabe from Peru also joined us along with water photog Josh and we all piled into Shawns Tundra, and off we went in search of off shore winds and tubes We ended up choosing Matador's and it was on. The waves were really pretty, winds perfect, sun just right and I had a great time. There were more than the usual amount of dogs running around enjoying the beautiful day, playing, chasing pine cones, play fighting over sticks and just having a blast. Being Martin Luther King Jr. I couldn't help reflect how much better a place the world would be if we could just all get along like dogs. The big dogs, the little dogs, black, brown, yellow, red, grey, white, short, tall, bullies, submissive, serious, jokers, fast, slow, young and old alike! It was just in my life that African Americans got civil rights! I remember those days almost like it was yesterday. How I was so inspired by Dr. Kings words, ideas and outlook for the future. Seems like we have made some progress...a little, but when you turn on the TV news, makes me wonder if mankind will ever figure it out, sorta sad the things that are happening around the world. So, today try to have that spirit of the dog! Remember my credo; "Stay Stoked, and Stay Forever Young" .... Da Lieb
