This will be the first image in my year long project to open "The Vault" of some of my archival images from the good 'ole days! Jeff Sibley was one of the founding team members of Zephyr "Z-Boyz" and is seen here surfing "The Cove" on a wonderful day at Pacific Ocean Park. All the stories you have heard about this spot are true! Really a dangerous place to surf with all the rotten and rusting remnants of the decaying construction under the surface of the water, and then there were the very unfriendly and protective "Locals."!! I once heard a story about some random surfer showing up to surf there, and while he was sitting in the lineup, some of the locals leaned out over the railings and asked him if this was his carbeurator? then dropped it into the water!! Underneath the Pier was a community of homeless, indigents, addicts, hookers, thieves, and generally a place you didnt want to walk through. The Pier ceased to exist around 1978, and there is nothing left but the memories. Remember my motto: "Stay Stoked, and Stay Forever Young." Da Lieb
