Celebration of Life / Paddle Out for Eric Osland
On Sunday March 29th. 2015 A celebration of life, and traditional Hawaiian style paddle out was held for Eric Osland at his favorite break, Rincon Point. Eric made his last paddle out, at a way too young age of 47 years old. He was a very passionate kneeboarder and loved the long walls of Rincon to enjoy his love of the Ocean. This celebration was organize by his best friend Ed Quinn and Eric's friends and family. People came from near and far to participate in this final good bye, and to celebrate Eri'c life and passion. A lot of people made the paddle out into the Cove at Rincon, including Masters of Surfing and Kneeboarding, young groms, old Groms and non-surfers alike. It was truly heart warming to see that circle of life, everyone throwing leis into the Ocean, splashing water and watch Ed spread Eric'c ashes into the Pacific Ocean, which links all of Surfers together in a community of Respect, Love and Brotherhood. Although I didn't know Eric, I feel linked to him and all of his loved ones through this community of love of the Ocean and this Lifestyle that is surfing, and it was my Honor to be able to photograph this event. Rest in Peace my Brother.
